Invisible Inner City: Povery, Crime and Decay in Roanoke's oldest neighborhoods -- Once the architectural showcases of Roanoke, these inner city neighborhoods fell into decline as people fled to the suburbs. The series focused on stories about landlords, tenants, housing stock, neighborhood crime, neighborhood organizations, revitalization, socio-economics and a gamut of other urban issues.

Transplant: Makenzie Blackburn has a small bowel transplant for Near Total Hirschsprung's Disease with which she was born. Her bowel lacked the nerves that process food and enable the body to leech nutrients from it. Cindy Blackburn, a single mom, must care for Makenzie 24-hours a day. They are living in the Residence Inn Oakland, close to the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh where the transplant surgery of a new bowel was performed and where Makenzie continues to receive medical testing and care.

Vernon's Journey: Vernon Bernard, diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease, lost control of most of his muscular function but, maintaining a sharp mind, tried to hold onto his life as long as he could. We followed his deterioration along with his family over a year and a half until his death.

Twins: Twins Alex and Kylie Perdue, 2, lost their mother only hours after they were delivered. She died of internal bleeding and the case was settled out of court. Their father, Al Perdue, a dispatcher for the police department, is raising them alone.
